The 15th of the first month of Chinese lunar month, 11th Feb, is the traditional Chinese Lantern Festival.
The Lantern Festival was originally called Shangyuan Festival. As the festival are held in the evening, so we called the Lantern Festival.
At the night of 15th of lunar month, we will see the first full moon of Chinese New Year.
Full moon night symbolizes reunion and good wishes. We'd like to eat sweet dumplings on that day, which means a family reunion and harmony, and express the best wishes to all the family members during the new year.
We call this sweet dympling to "Yuanxiao" in Chinese.
